We remember the places that mean the most
wanting them to stay just as before.
Yet, even if the heavenly host
made the changes on behalf of the Lord
many would squabble, complain, and fret
that the errors need to be corrected.
How quickly we all seem to forget
of the cornerstone that was rejected
in favor of more ancient traditions
that needed a temple, a place of power,
which only helped religious politicians
who didn’t care whose lives they devoured.
May I notice before my heart is hardened
this new earth looks a lot like the Garden.
