How easy it is to remain asleep
even when Glory appears all around.
Or, to build a tent in order to keep
that Glory from having to sleep on the ground.
Sleeping and building is all wasting time
that takes us away from the scene before us,
after we got there, the hard-fought climb,
before the voice came down like a chorus.
Perhaps the point of this scene is to stay
focussed on all the magic that’s here,
Glory that happens around us each day.
We think that it’s far, but really it’s near.
Instead of trying to harness Glory
find it daily as a part of your story.
